Basketball Recap: Jacob Lawlee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Copenhagen over Altmar-Parish-Williamstown

Copenhagen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 62-48 to the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Rebels. The Golden Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Copenhagen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Lawlee, who posted nine points and six blocks. With that strong performance, Lawlee is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Logan L'Huillier, who earned 13 points.

Even though they lost, Copenhagen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Copenhagen's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Copenhagen will head out to face off against Sackets Harbor Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown, they will host Weedsport at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
