League recap: Cartagena throws longest pass in league this season for Prince RVT

Fans got a thrill when Miguel Cartagena and Matt Letizio connected against Whitney RVT. The longest such play in Constitution State this season, the connection resulted in 61 yards.

East Hampton/Vinal RVT was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to third in the league. The Bellringers defeated Wolcott RVT 19-12 earlier in the week.

Cartagena and Vernon Mcalmont gave Prince RVT a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Cartagena threw for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Mcalmont ran for 192 yards. Brown Romario also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.

Cartagena and Mcalmont gave the Falcons a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Collin Jandreau was a passing and rushing force as Wilcox RVT fell to Putnam/Tourtellotte Memorial/Ellis RVT. He completed 5 passes for 122 yards and also ran for 125 yards. Jandreau's key target this week was Alan McComb, who caught 7 passes for 113 yards.

Mcalmont was the best running back in the league this week.

Cartagena put up the best numbers through the air as Prince RVT defeated the Owls. Cartagena's favorite target this week was Daniel Hampton, who caught 3 passes for 74 yards.

McComb was the best wideout in Constitution State this week as the Indians lost to the Pride. Daniel Guodace helped Wilcox RVT's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Hakeem Fletcher. The Bullard-Havens star has 5 catches for 130 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bullard-Havens takes on East Hampton/Vinal RVT. As it stands, the Tigers are in seventh, while Joe Ceferatti's team is in third.

Capital Prep/Classical Magnet/Achievement First scaled the state rankings by moving to 55 from 84 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trailblazers were able to move up by besting New London 52-14.
