Recap: Brackenridge Eagles vs. Boerne Greyhounds
The Brackenridge Eagles struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Boerne Greyhounds had 900% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Brackenridge fell to Boerne 50-45. While losing is never fun, Brackenridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while Boerne is ranked 275th).
Defeat or not, Brackenridge got some senior leadership from Javi Solis who scored 14 points along with 4 steals and Isaiah Cardona who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. Cardona scored a full 44.4% of Brackenridge's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travonte Bean, who scored 4 points.
Boerne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Fox led the charge by scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds. Casen Hoegemeyer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Brackenridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Boerne, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brackenridge will take on Marcus at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marcus has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 602 points over their last nine matches. As for Boerne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Uvalde at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
