Sacred Heart Academy extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State - South this week by beating Coleman, 59-16. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Sacred Heart Academy took down the Comets 59-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nick Hire ran for 181 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards in the win.
DeWayne McKinney was the best wideout in the league this week as Vestaburg bested Montabella. McKinney racked up five receptions for 112 yards. Christian Benavidez helped Vestaburg's passing attack out by catching one ball for one yard.
Brady Burggren threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns. He was 15-32 with one interceptions.
Tommy Whisner made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Mustangs fell to the Wolverines. The sophomore recorded two fumbles.
Rick Roberts' team's Mitch Myler and Dustin Neyer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Myler has thrown for 1882 yards this season, while Neyer, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 44 catches for 802 yards. Coleman's Tim Anderson leads the league in rushing yards with 1295.
Entering into this week's contest against Muskegon Heights, Myler is short just 118 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
Sacred Heart Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,314 from 6,002. The advance stemmed from a 59-16 victory over Chad Klopf 's team last week.
