Basketball Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Altamont Longhorns
The Tabiona Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Altamont Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tabiona has four straight victories, the Longhorns have 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Tabiona beat the Wildcats 55-43.
Tabiona got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Rhoades out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Rhoades has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rhoades, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Altamont might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-49 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Tabiona has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Altamont, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for Tabiona against the Longhorns in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 77-29 win. Will Tabiona repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
