Baseball Recap: Coral Springs Has No Trouble Against IMG Academy Gold

Coral Springs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th. Everything went their way against the IMG Academy Gold Ascenders as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Colts have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Angelo Painter looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coral Springs is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Coral Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Guthrie, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jaxon Krugman was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Coral Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Coral Springs back to even at 8-8. As for IMG Academy Gold, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coral Springs has already played their next game, an 8-6 victory against Palmetto on the 25th. As for IMG Academy Gold, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against American Heritage on the 25th.
