Softball Game Preview: Monsignor McClancy Crusaders vs. Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers

The Monsignor McClancy Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Mary Louis Academy Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monsignor McClancy fell victim to Kennedy Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Gaels. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monsignor McClancy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sabina Franzese, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That hit was Franzese's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mary Louis Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over St. John the Baptist.

Abby Roy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Roy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Mia Valerio and Syd Ambrosino did most of the damage at the plate: Valerio went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Ambrosino went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrea Petri, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mary Louis Academy's record is now 3-0. As for Monsignor McClancy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
