League recap: Spalding Academy propelled into state Top 25 after victory

Spalding Academy was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Heartland Lutheran. The Knights came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Giltner extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating Cedar Valley, 90-50. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Hornets.

Giltner's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Findley has thrown for 2188 yards and 35 touchdowns this season, while Kyle Hawthorne has 45 catches for 760 yards. Findley also leads the league in rushing with 329 yards.

Spalding Academy took down the Red Hornets 73-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
