It's playoff time, and Gateway had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 win over the Palmetto Ridge Bears on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won 12 matches in a row.

It was another big night for Thatiyana Holiday, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenyah Moss, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Palmetto Ridge lost, don't look at Hanna Valdes. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points.

Gateway's record is now 22-5. As for Palmetto Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Gateway will take on Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will square off against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charlotte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Palmetto Ridge likes a good challenge.
