Baseball Recap: Cooper's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Cooper came out on top against Dixie Heights on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 13-4 win. The Jaguars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 17-2).

Boston Brinkman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brogan Scott was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Hartman, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

With the victory, Cooper broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-10. As for Dixie Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cooper will face off against Ludlow at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dixie Heights, they will square off against Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
