Football Recap: Somerset Academy Collegiate Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Somerset Academy Collegiate kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Charlotte Trojans, falling 57-14. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Julian Cruz had an outrageously good game for Charlotte as he rushed for 118 yards and three scores on only six carries. Cruz's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Coming up, Somerset Academy Collegiate will challenge Austin Achieve at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Woodsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
