Soccer Game Preview: Clayton vs. Riverside-Durham

The Clayton Comets will square off against the Riverside-Durham Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside-Durham took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Clayton, who comes in off a win.

Clayton took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over West Johnston. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Laila Badger and Ava Walker scored all four of Clayton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Riverside-Durham finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of Sanderson by a score of 2-1. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The victory got Clayton back to even at 1-1. As for Riverside-Durham, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
