Baseball Recap: Rocklin Triumphs

Rocklin's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Whitney Wildcats by a score of 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Connor Kostecki looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Ryan Lujan and Colby Cobb did most of the damage at the plate: Lujan went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cobb got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Rocklin is 3-0-1 when Lujan posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Travis Evans was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rocklin's record is now 6-10-1. As for Whitney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rocklin beat Whitney by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday.
