Softball Recap: Del Campo Cougars vs. Yuba City Honkers
Del Campo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 13-6 to the Yuba City Honkers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Honkers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.
Del Campo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katlin Tiss, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Alisha Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Del Campo's record is now 5-16. As for Yuba City, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Campo will venture away from home to face off against Twelve Bridges at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Raging Rhinos have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Yuba City, they will head out on the road to take on Nevada Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Miners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something the Honkers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
