Baseball Game Preview: Potlatch Loggers vs. Nezperce Nighthawks

Potlatch has gone a perfect 9-0 against Nezperce recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Potlatch Loggers are taking a road trip to take on the Nezperce Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. Potlatch will be strutting in after a victory while Nezperce will be coming in after a defeat.

Potlatch is headed out to face Nezperce after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Potlatch walked away with a 10-7 win over Timberlake on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Loggers, who have now won four matchups in a row dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Waylan Marshall, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was William Yearout, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Nezperce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to Clearwater Valley.

Carter Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Potlatch took their win against Nezperce in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potlatch since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
