Volleyball Recap: Dalton Starts off Right with Win over Northwest Whitfield

Dalton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Northwest Whitfield Bruins. The Catamounts haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Dalton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 28-26.

Among those leading the charge was Anjalee Lemons, who had seven assists and three aces. Those seven assists gave her a new career-high.

Northwest Whitfield's loss came despite strong showings from Paola Cuna and Addison Manis. Cuna had ten digs, while Manis had 14 digs and one assist.

Coincidentally, Dalton and Northwest Whitfield will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Catamounts will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
