Baseball Recap: Summit Academy Takes a Loss

Summit Academy lost against Logan last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 7-6. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trace Gedicks and Cooper Derbidge stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gedicks scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Derbidge went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Summit Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Logan, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Summit Academy will head out to take on Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Logan, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sky View at 4:30 p.m.
