Soccer Game Preview: Providence Christian Academy vs. Commerce

The Providence Christian Academy Storm will head out to take on the Commerce Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Providence Christian Academy is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Athens Academy on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Providence Christian Academy haven't been shut out since back in February.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Commerce, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy 1-0. Commerce wouldn't have won without Olivia Hollon, who scored the game-winner.

Commerce's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Providence Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.
