Football Recap: McGregor Comes Up Short + How To Watch

McGregor extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 61-14 defeat at the hands of the Fairfield Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 69-40 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

McGregor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bubba Zacharias, who threw for 195 yards and one TD, and Dominic Madron, who picked up 68 receiving yards and one score.

As for Fairfield, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

It was another big night for Kohl Collins, who threw for 402 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards and one score. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Finn Smith was another key player, picking up 219 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Coming up, after each having a week off, McGregor and C.H. Yoe will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. The Bulldogs will be up against the Yoemen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fairfield, they are taking a road trip to face off against Teague at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
