Basketball Recap: Ella Moses' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chambers/Wheeler Central over Creighton

Chambers/Wheeler Central was the 36-26 winner over Creighton when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades took a hard 58-40 fall against the Creighton Bulldogs on Thursday.

Several Renegades players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Moses, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds. Moses is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Annabel Waldo was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Chambers/Wheeler Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Creighton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Chambers/Wheeler Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Anselmo-Merna at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Anselmo-Merna is on a three-game streak of home wins, Chambers/Wheeler Central a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Creighton, they will host Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
