Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Ysleta

Riverside is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Ysleta Indians at 7:30 p.m. Riverside's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Riverside managed to keep up with Socorro until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. 2026 welcomed the Rangers with a 3-0 loss courtesy of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Ysleta was not quite Coronado's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Ysleta couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Kevin Portillo, who's now up to three this season.

Ysleta's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
