Baseball Recap: Tomball Memorial Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Tomball Memorial can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Klein Bearkats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mason Flores looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tomball Memorial is 4-2 when Flores allows three or fewer earned runs, but 11-13-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cole Peterson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Aguilar, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Tomball Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Tomball Memorial back to even at 15-15-1. As for Klein, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12-1 record this season.

Tomball Memorial will have a chance to go back-to-back against Klein: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
