Gorham Fayette had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it 12. They lost 11-1 to the Hilltop Cadets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cadets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.

Gorham Fayette saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Leininger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Zander Johnston also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Hilltop, they now have a winning record of 9-8. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 14-1).

On Hilltop's side, Cameron Schlosser was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Schlosser also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hilltop is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise. Schlosser was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Terry Rebeck was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Hilltop is undefeated when Rebeck posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cameron Shimp, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gorham Fayette will face off against North Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilltop, they will venture away from home to square off against North Baltimore at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
