Newton Falls is still winless after their game against Champion on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the Golden Flashes. On the bright side, the 24- point performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, Newton Falls still got an impressive performance from Chace Clonch, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, and also threw for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (113 yards to be exact) went to Phil Davis.

Newton Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Champion, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

As of now, neither Newton Falls nor the Golden Flashes have any future games scheduled.
