Basketball Recap: Mounds Comes Up Short

Mounds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 57-28 loss at the hands of the Caney Valley Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-19 back in November of 2024.

Mounds' defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Caney Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mounds has already played their next game (against Porter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Caney Valley will challenge Oklahoma Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caney Valley is facing Oklahoma Union at the right time seeing as Oklahoma Union is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
