Volleyball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

Spanish River lost against West Boca Raton back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sharks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulls.

Spanish River started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Sofia Maldonado, who had 18 assists and six digs.

Spanish River has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for West Boca Raton, their win ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Spanish River and Santaluces will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Boca Raton, they will take on St. John Paul II Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
