Baseball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Radnor Raptors

Garnet Valley and Radnor are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Jaguars will head out to challenge the Raptors at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Garnet Valley 3.4, Radnor 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

It was a proper cat-fight when Garnet Valley took on Upper Dublin on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2.

Garnet Valley got a good showing from Cody Wiest, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wiest has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Garnet Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Carroll, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Carroll is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Radnor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Lions. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Raptors this season.

Radnor's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Garnet Valley, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

Garnet Valley came up short against Radnor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
