Softball Recap: St. Clair County Takes a Loss

St. Clair County saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Satsuma Gators by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Saints have lost by just one run.

Oaklie Rewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Clair County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carman Garner, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

St. Clair County's loss dropped their record down to 16-11-1. As for Satsuma, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-10-2.

Coming up, St. Clair County will face off against Pell City at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Satsuma, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Hackleburg at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hackleburg's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Satsuma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
