Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Squires vs. Peru Tigers

The Manchester Squires will head out to square off against the Peru Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manchester will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Mississinewa, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Manchester snuck past Mississinewa with a 46-42 victory on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Squires.

Manchester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peyton Ream led the charge by going 6 for 11 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanna Stout, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Peru had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Oracles with a sharp 54-34 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted since January 25, 2024.

Manchester's record is now 7-10. As for Peru, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Manchester took their win against Peru in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 52-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
