Football Recap: Pierce County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Pierce County was riding high fresh off their 42-7 takedown of Tattnall County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears lost to the Appling County Pirates at home by a 31-14 margin on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bears, who until this contest were averaging 11.6 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Pierce County lost, don't look at Jaeveon Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 194 yards and two scores.

Jaiden Knight produced another solid effort rushing for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per carry for Appling County. Those 269 rushing yards gave Knight a new career-high.

Pierce County's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Appling County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

As of now, neither Pierce County nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
