McNair is 1-9 against Stagg since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, both will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, McNair blew past Weston Ranch, posting a 42-14 victory at home. The Eagles pushed the score to 42-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Joel Donnell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 260 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 260 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. McNair also got help from Corey Waters 111, who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.

McNair didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Waters 111. He is also on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in the last four games he's played. McNair got some further help from Randy Turner: he picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made 16 total tackles.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McNair was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Stagg took their match at home last Friday with ease, bagging a 42-8 win over Bear Creek. With that victory, the Delta Kings brought their scoring average up to 26 points per game.

Julian Benton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 191 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards. Darnell Holmes was another major influence, as he rushed for 66 yards and ran in a TD.

McNair's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Stagg, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

McNair didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Stagg in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, but they still walked away with a 27-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Stagg's Jayden Moses, who rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 67 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for McNair to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
