Softball Recap: Red Mountain Beats Williams Field for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Red Mountain had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Williams Field on Thursday. Red Mountain was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Williams Field. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Mountain Lions this season.

The team relied heavily on Payton Westra, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nina Montenegro, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Red Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams Field struck out 14 times.
