Basketball Game Preview: Galeton Tigers vs. Northern Potter Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Galeton is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Galeton ended up a good deal behind Port Allegany and lost 62-44.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was TREY SYKORA, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Another player making a difference was MASYN MALACZEWSKI, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Northern Potter came up short against Cameron County on Friday and fell 69-61. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Raiders are ranked 298th).

Northern Potter now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Galeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Galeton came up short against Northern Potter in their previous matchup back in January, falling 45-38. Can Galeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
