Gehlen Catholic hadn't done well against Akron-Westfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Jays blew past the Westerners 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Jays, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gehlen Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13. As for Akron-Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Gehlen Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union on Saturday. The Royals will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Jays surely won't give up without a fight. Akron-Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
