Basketball Game Preview: Los Alamos Hilltoppers vs. Espanola Valley Sundevils

Los Alamos and Espanola Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Los Alamos Hilltoppers are taking a road trip to square off against the Espanola Valley Sundevils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Alamos has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Espanola Valley will come in with five straight victories.

Last Thursday, Los Alamos lost to Moriarty at home by a 43-28 margin.

Meanwhile, Espanola Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Moriarty on Saturday, taking the game 56-44.

Espanola Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Los Alamos, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Los Alamos beat Espanola Valley 51-40 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Alamos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
