Baseball Recap: Oakridge Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oakridge had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 14-12-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Cistercian Hawks by a score of 9-5. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Hawks back in March, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Cole Worthington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Oakridge is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-9-1 otherwise. Worthington was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Brayden Collins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrew Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

As for Cistercian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly four runs.

On Cistercian's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamison Berard, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Oakridge has already played their next contest, a 12-6 loss against Greenhill on the 28th. Cistercian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
