The Alta Loma Braves will challenge the Los Altos Conquerors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alta Loma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Alta Loma is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against San Dimas on Friday. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Saints 6-5.
Peyton Reel was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Reel was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Salazar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Izabella Poveda was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Alta Loma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Los Altos has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.24 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Granada Hills Charter. The Conquerors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Brianah Alejandre made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Alta Loma has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Los Altos, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both Alta Loma and Los Altos just can't seem to miss. The Braves have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Los Altos struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alta Loma was able to grind out a solid win over Los Altos in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, winning 11-8. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Conquerors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
