Basketball Game Preview: Waterbury Career Academy Spartans vs. Woodland Regional Hawks

The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans will square off against the Woodland Regional Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Waterbury Career Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Crosby just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 65-58 to the Bulldogs.

While Woodland Regional didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 63-56 win over Watertown on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Woodland Regional's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Waterbury Career Academy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
