Basketball Recap: Shoshoni Comes Up Short

Shoshoni was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hot Springs County Bobcats. The Wranglers were probably out for revenge after losing 57-44 to them when the teams met back in January of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Wranglers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylor McConnaughey, who posted nine points along with six assists and four steals. That's the most points McConnaughey has posted since back in February of 2024. Natalie Gilbertson was another key player, putting up 17 points and five boards.

Shoshoni's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Hot Springs County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Shoshoni wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-19 defeat against Rocky Mountain on the 25th. Hot Springs County has also already played their next match, a 64-33 win against Greybull on the 25th.
