Ridgewood's loss ends six-game winning streak on the road

It was a good run, but the Ridgewood Generals unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. Their tough 64-42 defeat to Tuscarawas Valley might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Ridgewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Tuscarawas Valley is ranked 85th).

Tuscarawas Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leah Bourquin, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Bourquin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sally Ray, who scored 15 points.

Ridgewood's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.

Ridgewood will take on Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Coshocton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Garaway at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
