Volleyball Game Preview: Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers vs. Cristo Rey Saints

The Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers will venture away from home to challenge the Cristo Rey Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sacramento Country Day will be strutting in after a win while Cristo Rey will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Sacramento Country Day earned a 3-1 victory over Western Sierra Collegiate Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Sacramento Country Day had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey lost 3-0 to John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills on Tuesday. The Saints have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-20, 25-20.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sacramento Country Day, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Sacramento Country Day couldn't quite get it done against Cristo Rey in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Sacramento Country Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
