Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman Find Success

Cardinal Newman took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Westminster Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Lions 1-0 on Monday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Cardinal Newman were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Elias Sabido, which was the first he's scored this season.

Cardinal Newman now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westminster Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Newman is taking a road trip to challenge FAU High at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westminster Academy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Avant Garde Academy at 7:00 p.m.
