Softball Recap: Astoria Has No Trouble Against Tillamook

Astoria never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Tillamook Cheesemakers 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Fishermen, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Finley Cameron was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nayomi Holmstedt, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Astoria hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tillamook struck out ten times.

The win made it two in a row for Astoria and bumps their season record up to 12-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tillamook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Astoria will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tillamook: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Tuesday.
