Recap: McKenzie Tigers vs. Elba Tigers
The McKenzie Tigers lost against the Elba Tigers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. McKenzie was beaten by Elba 56-28. McKenzie has not had much luck with Elba recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
McKenzie's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jah'marren Jackson, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jackson hasn't dropped below two receiving touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Davison, who rushed for 131 yards.
Alvin Henderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 225 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Henderson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Brady Johnson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
McKenzie has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Elba, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
McKenzie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elba's homestand continues as they prepare to take on University Charter at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. University Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Elba is ranked 105th).
