Baseball Recap: Conway Wins Going Away Against St. James

Conway hadn't done well against St. James recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Sharks. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Doc Mishoe looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenley McCracken was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Carsten Huggins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Conway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Conway's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for St. James, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Sharks beat Conway by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday.
