Volleyball Recap: Roger Bacon Comes Up Short

Roger Bacon was the 3-1 winner over Taylor when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Roger Bacon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Taylor work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-25, 24-26, 21-25, 15-10.

Leading Taylor to victory were Madalyn Trimpe and Kylie Stutzman. Trimpe had nine digs and four assists, while Stutzman had 29 digs and 27 kills. Stutzman is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season.

Roger Bacon's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Taylor, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Roger Bacon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taylor, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mercy McAuley at 5:30 p.m.
