Baseball Recap: South Florence Has No Trouble Against Wilson

South Florence was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wilson on Monday. The Bruins blew past the Tigers 14-2. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Landon Hill looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, South Florence got a massive performance out of Jhordyn Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ben Tyner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and four RBI.

South Florence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Florence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Wilson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

As of now, neither South Florence nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
