Baseball Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Sunnyslope Vikings
Horizon lost to Sunnyslope back in April of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Horizon Huskies skirted past the Sunnyslope Vikings 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.
Preston Burke looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Colten Figueroa was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Robbins, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Horizon's record now sits at 2-0. As for Sunnyslope, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Coming up, Horizon will be playing at home against Canyon del Oro at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunnyslope, they will face off against Red Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Sunnyslope has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
