Ashe County barely beat Hibriten the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Panthers on Wednesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-4 victory two weeks ago.

Maleah Lovell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Addison Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hannah Osborne, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Ashe County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ashe County's record is now 11-9. As for Hibriten, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.

Ashe County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-10 victory against East Gaston on the 23rd. As for Hibriten, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-5 loss against West Caldwell on the 23rd.
