Basketball Recap: Wapahani Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Monroe Central last Wednesday, Wapahani came back down to earth. The Wapahani Raiders took a 38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lapel Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Wapahani still got an impressive performance from Kimber Abshear, who posted eight points in addition to six blocks and five boards. Abshear is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Luce, who earned nine points.

Laniah Wills continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lapel, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Mroz was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Wapahani's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4. As for Lapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Wapahani has already played their next game, a 52-33 victory against Shenandoah on the 30th. As for Lapel, they will take on Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lapel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
